The joys of shopping and packing.

Hello, if you've found your way here then you must want to know how I'm getting on with the packing, and I'd be delighted to inform you.

I have got most of the clothes (t-shirts, trousers, shoes etc.) that will be going with me to the US. However I don't exactly have anything to put them in yet. *Insert gasps of horror here* don't worry I had a cheeky look around the market in Derby today, so that's that pretty much sorted! Then it's just like; a torch, hayfever tablets, toiletries, a new razor and knee support bandage things, so essentially 15 minutes in ASDA and I'm all sorted.

Packing should not prove a problem as I have piled all my clothes in a corner of my room so it's just a matter of shoving delicately placing them into the vessel which is yet to be purchased. Sorting out what kind of dollars that would be needed today, so that's that in the 'not to worry about' section now.

I have my laptop and have installed the important programs that NEED to be on it, Skype, Anti-Virus software, Google chrome and the like and of course the most important Football Manager 2012, with my Derby County save lovingly transferred. Please let me know if you think I need to put anything else on!

The nervous excitement that you get before going to a new school, or place to live is starting to settle in now, but I'm feeling better and better about it. It helps that the people that are going to my camp seem lovely and eager to help.

This time next week I shall be about half way through my flight to the US. Let the countdown begin.

7 Days.

Why this blog exists

Hello!

The purpose of this blog is quite simple. I'm leaving to go to America in about a week and six days, and I wanted a way to let my friends and family back home know how I'm getting on. On a seperate note I'm not good at documenting things, and this seemed like a good way to do such. So this is as much for me in 5 years, who i'm sure will be looking fondly back upon my time across the pond. You're welcome old and bearded 28 year old Tim.

First and foremost I think I should explain the naming of this blog. Whilst working at a certain pizza restaurant during this past year I was given the nickname of 'Timmy Westside' a reference to the How I Met Your Mother's character of Ted Mosby, and the episode where he called himself 'Teddy Westside'. I was called it once and it seemed to stick, and when I was called it in front of new people/customers it gave me valuable 'Street Cred'. I'm all about the Cred. (All credit to Shyam for the creation of that nickname and almost doubling my 'G' rating)

Here I shall list my experiences Stateside, and if I manage to charge the battery on my camera photos may indeed be included. That's right, if you got this far into reading this blog, I promise you photos. Real life, actual photos of my travels. You lucky dogs.

I haven't decided the way I'm going to write this blog yet. It's going to be really whatever comes to mind, or whatever provides me inspiration.

Do let me know how this first one went.

Tim
